A nice Golden Week day for a last report for the season: the snow is going, going, gone!

We've got cherry blossoms blooming on the roads leading up to the resort, blue skies for the weekend and a lot less snow.

Not a great day before we enter the weekend; a low-pressure center moving to the north brought some strong winds earlier, and rain and gloom at the moment.

A bit blustery yesterday, with the lifts at Akakan stopped for a while due to wind (and it was pretty rainy and nasty, but that didn't stop a lot of people from getting out there!).

Man, can things change right after you file a report (in other words, "Mountain weather is very changeable").

The snow let up by this morning, with the sun now shining on Myoko.

Snow kept on falling overnight here, although the total from yesterday is only about 15cm (so 10 on top of yesterday's 5 or so).

The SnowJapan forecast had it exactly right; the warm weather and sun (and sunburn for me) over the weekend has given way to winds, colder temperatures and snow!

It's another bluebird day in Myoko - although yesterday those blue skies turned to impenetrable, soupy fog by lunchtime.

The day started really nicely today, with some fresh snow and beautiful blue, clear skies.

It was getting pretty quiet toward the end of the day yesterday, so I was pleasant surprised to wake up to a fresh layer of snow on the ground.

The snow has continued to fall, but not really in the "heavy snow" class - well, it is pretty heavy, in that it's full of water—pretty heavy pow today!
