New snowfall at base 60cm
Snowfall at base this season 61cm
Posted on Saturday 6th December 2014 This is an archived report. The latest Myoko Now report can be found here.
Yesterday's forecast came true: we work up to about 60cm of fairly nice fresh snow - not as wet and heavy as is often the case early in the season.
It's beautiful! It's very much welcome!
So why didn't I make this report the first thing of the day? There’s this thing called a battery that goes into the mighty snowthrower (which is often a part of, and occasionally defines) these reports. Mine was getting low, but at worst a quick jump and it was OK—until the first time I really needed the machine. All I can say is, I went to the local home center, found the right serial number of the battery (just one left), and in the five minutes I was there, at least three other men picked up batteries. And a huge line at checkout with a forest of shovels and scrapers heading out.
It always catches us to some degree.
Still snowing, with occasional sunny patches. Hope it keeps building up, so the planned openings around the 20th will go off on schedule!
