It's the long weekend with many people off work today due to the National Foundation Day national holiday.

Early this morning there were some beautiful shades of pink and blue and now there is some cloud around the mountains but a lot of blue sky and sunshine.

Yesterday was a cold and snowy day.

Look for 20-30cm or more of new snow on the mountains.

It was a mostly cloudy day yesterday with some light snow falling.

We had to put up with some strong winds again yesterday morning.

Yesterday ended up being a mostly just cloudy kind of day but there was a lot of fresh snow to enjoy.

We have a very nice layer of fresh snow on the ground this morning.

Some fresh snow this morning. 4cm for the report. Let me note that Hakuba 47 are reporting 2-3cm at base.

It's snowing lightly this morning and ski areas are reporting varying amounts of new snow, with the most being 10cm coming from Cortina.

Just a thin dusting of snow this morning at base and ski areas who are reporting any reporting up to 5cm (Happo-one at Riesen quad).

So what do we have today. Well, early morning it was cloudy with some light snow falling in places.

Today is likely to clear up somewhat but early morning there's some thick fog up on the mountains.

It's a very cold early Saturday morning, the sun is out and we have beautiful blue skies.
