Yesterday was a very good day, with the gondola getting back in operation and a good dump of 12cm of new snow.

Happy New Year 2018, which was welcomed in by a fireworks display last night at the base of the Furano Zone.

Looking at the trees it seems that the winds have passed us. There is a high cloud ceiling and it has started to snow lightly and will likely do that through the day.

There is light wind blowing around in the village which is still moving the trees a fair bit, but the most intense part of the front has passed.

The winds are still with us but should be less intense than yesterday.

Christmas day was warm and wet. Temperatures went up to +6c, and that combined with heavy rain.

Merry white Christmas from Furano. As predicted the rain arrived and it definitely is a front of heavy rain, at the moment anyway.

It is a warm morning at -2c and the town temperature should rise to a high of 0c.

It is another cold -9c morning here in the town and the temperature is set to top out at a not warm -6c.

There is no snow falling now but there is 7cm of new snow on the ground that sneaked in there over night.

It is a very cold start to the morning with the thermometer sitting at -10c, but the good news it is a very nice clear morning.

The skies will likely be high overcast today with some light snow falling, however for now we have blue above and brilliant sunshine.

It is snowing moderately here in the village right at the moment.

There are a few snow flakes lofting down very slowly with no wind around.
