In some parts we have some blue sky and sunshine this morning (Ichinose), while it still cloud cover in other areas (Okushiga, Kumanoyu).

Tons more snow since yesterday.

It's a bit crazy up here at the moment with snow, wind and limited visibility... not to mention the cold.

Very cold conditions, heavy snow and poor visibility at the moment I am writing this.

Good morning from a very cold Shiga Kogen.

Yesterday the sun shone at times and it cleared up in the evening. Even then, though, it is staying mid-winter cold.

Snow started early morning and it is the kind of snow that quickly gives us good cm. It is due to be snowing through Sunday; we are expecting... a lot!

A largely cloudy morning with light snow falling in places (see: Okushiga Kogen).

I think it is worth mentioning that yesterday morning Okushiga Kogen (ski area) was reporting up to 50cm of snow in some wind-blown places

Some neighbouring regions to the north and east have enjoyed some really heavy snowfall numbers.

Yakebitaiyama was reporting 20cm of snowfall very early this morning.

Perhaps today is the day we transition back to mid-winter conditions.

We have some fresh snow. Not massive amounts, but enough to cover up hard crusts, at least for a while.

We do have some light snow falling in places this morning, though it is generally quite bright too.
