DumbStick 13
OK ok ok. Is this phrase overused and/or used when it really really shouldn't? Like when someone tells me the local rice is "nihon ichi" (best in Japan), or the pickles that the farmer down the road makes is "nihon ichi"? I never know when something really IS nihon ichi or not? sanjo 2
Well I heard that the Nagaoka firework display here in Niigata is NIHON ICHI, and some even say SEKAI ICHI. Whether that is true or not is a big ????
white-void 0
Well my local town has nihon ichi daikon, so I'm told. I am sure you're all so impressed with that. We even have an "uwasa no daikon" shop
Ocean11 0
uwasa no daikon? I'd like to meet the girl that started that one...! Here in Suwa we have a 'wadai no joshishogakusei'. She is definitely nippon ichi in the 'will turn out badly' category.

bearbackrider 0
My friend visited a town in Fukushima that claims to have the best cucumbers in Japan. She brought me some back from there. They were quite nice. Although they just seemed like normal cucumbers to me.
