Master Debater 0
What do the Japanese generally like to debate? What gets them going and lets you have a good argument with?
miteyak 0
May I suggest a polite discussion regarding the beauty of Japan... or food, perhaps...
r45 4
Or how about whaling or burakumin or whatever they're called.
Ocean11 0
I've had some good ones about logic. Some Japanese think that it's overrated, and a good alternative is to intuit things (usually to intuit that you must be right because you feel it is so.) You can get some good laughs out of this topic, before you bury your 'debating partner' alive.

(ten minutes down the road) Boss: So how many? seven, right? Me: do you have any reasons for wanting seven? Boss: Ummm, anooo, no. Me: OK, so we only need four Boss: I think seven, what do you think... Me: excuse me while I perform hara kiri...

Stefan 0
7 sounds good for me, you're being unreasonable. It's a wonder the poor fellow hasn't fired you with that kind of attitude.
oblivion 5
Discussing the difficulty of Japanese is a subject that Japaneses seem to enjoy talking about, although be prepared for it to not be an actual discussion - more a lecture (of dubious quality).
