SKI 15
Interesting article about them here http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/film/3392435.stm Anyone else notice how lots of Japanese stay put after the last of the credits have gone up after a movie. That always makes me chuckle.
fukdane 2
Over 9 minutes! Why do people stay until the end of the credits anyway? The music is usually poo, so it can't be that..... Getting their moneys worth.
nekobi 0
sometimes theres a scene or something funny at the end. my fav is in ferris bueller's day off when the principal has to ride the bus. a girl offers him a gummy bear thats warm and soft bc its been in her pocket all day
Plucky 0
When I was in Vegas over Christmas I went to see 'The Last Samurai'. I thought I recognized a some of the scenery in the movie so I stayed to see if the credits would say where it was shot. About half the crowd in the theater were Japanese people (since about half the tourists in Vegas are Japanese) and all of them stayed to watch the credits through the end. I doubt many of them could even read them since it was all in English. Found it a bit peculiar myself.
scoobydoo 0
There's only usually something on the end in a comedy, right? Any instances of non-comedies doing that? If so, I might have missed a fair bit. Come the end, I'm outta there.
big-will 7
I find it a bit wacky as well. Just sitting there for 10 minutes (!) watching the credits roll. There may be last scenes in a comedy, but hardly in any other films. (Unless I'm missing something here)
Thunderbird2 0
I like the old films where the credits lasted about, er, 5 seconds. You'll never miss an added on last scene there
alferg 0
well, when you slave away for 2-3 years doing all that animation, its kinda nice to see your name up there...its proof that you were involved... the credits are longer these days because so many people work on these big FX/animated productions...I'm working with over 150 people on a feature film right now - there'll be 100s more involved when they start shooting the live action shots... & you'll find that most of the people who stay for the credits are looking out for their friends/families names! (look mum - im in the credits!)
grungy-gonads 54
Wow, that means that most Japanese people who go the cinema have relatives and friends making movies! Cool So what feature you working on then?
alferg 0
hehe - maybe they are all big film geeks - they like to sit through the credits too. I'm working on "Happy Feet" George Miller is directing it. I'm just one little cog in a very big machine.. & its not at all glamerous, working on a CG film - beats flippin burgers though Some big names are doing the voices.
