miteyak 0
I'm looking to export my car to Australia. Anyone have any links/info etc on this, from doing most myself to a fully fledged all inclusive deal?
danz 0
I guess this wont really help you but... I had a kiwi buddy in Ibaraki who had a nice little side business buying used cars in japan, and selling then in NZ...he made profit even after paying for shipping the cars over... but that is all I know... danz
sunrise 0
They did this with aussies too. They would pay Aussies ¥40,000 to put the car in their name and then they'd pick it up at the other end and resell it. I think Aussies can export one car a year or something like that. I did it to help a kiwi friend out who was leaving Japan for Oz and was able to do a contra deal with these people for cheaper shipping all her years worth of stuff. (hmmm, I should have done it for myself too... but I'd have wanted more money. )
indosnm 0
Yes us aussies can do it once a year on our passport. My wife (japanese) can do it now too. Its a nice little earner, but they have made the restrictions very very tight to stop it being abused by the dodgy car salesmen! Miteyak, do it all yourself mate, if you have any questions just PM me. I have links too!
