woywoy 0
Question: There are plenty of "sakura", cherry blossoms, around but where do the "cherries" themselves go? The same in the case of the "ume" blossoms. Where do the "plums" go?
veronica 2
Eaten? There are none, (I think)
Ocean11 0
The type of cherry tree is the 'ornamental' type that has inedible fruit. The plums however all go into my big jar of umeshu.
Plucky 0
could you imagine if they did produce cherries? What a freakin' mess that would be. Everyone's socks would be dyed red and white - the white coming from all of the bird poo resulting from the feast in the trees.
nori-chan 0
I like to go cherry picking (cherry eating!) in Fukushima every year. I always eat too many!
rach 1
Where do you go in Fukushima nori-chan? That area is "famous for" cherrys isn't it?
slow 0
Cherry piciking is very famous in Yamanashi and Yamagata. If you go to Yamagata, you may be able to eat very expensive cherries "Sato-nishiki" as much as you want. Don't steal them, about few million yen woth of stolen Sato-nishiki was a big news last year!
