scouser 4
I'm planning on a 3 week or so holiday back to the UK over summer. Tried calling up the travel people yesterday and was told lots of flights already booked up and on waiting lists!!! I was really shocked at that, I thought this was still well early. Obviously not. Just thought I'd share that....best to get things sorted early maybe.
Ocean11 0
Really? Bummer. What dates were you looking at? I'm thinking of going in July. I hope it's not chocker already...
scouser 4
Well it is peak, but I still thought there would be lots of choice. I'm hoping on leaving end of July / beginning of August.
damian 0
I also couldn't get a flight with BA on the day I wanted, nor on any of the 2 days before or after my preferred departure day. The UK seems to be the place to go.
Ocean11 0
Aber naturlich...
farquah 0
Try flynig with Lufthanser, they are usually pretty good at availabilities and is the cheapest I found as well. As long as you don`t mind a stop over in Frankfurt or Munich and some 6ft2 ex international shotput German Airhostess!! Travel hero and No1 Travel usually have quite a lot of seats allocated, check the Japan Times for the offers, last year I flew in July at last minute got awsome deal. slow 0
Did you ask HIS? They'll find any ticket available, or they'll put your name on a waiting list. You can save your time.
Ocean11 0
My missus has just checked the JAL website and found plenty available for mid-July...

rach 1
I always think I should start looking in March, but it always gets to April. Time to start phoning round.
guzzlers-baps 0
It was on the bbc the other day that the UK is seeing a renewed interest from Japanese tourists and they expect double the number that went last year this coming summer. Must be the weather.
NoFakie 45
What kind of prices are we looking at this year?
scouser 4
Beginning of August, BA, about 200,000 yen (that gets you to Mancland)
Ocean11 0
A coupla man less than that from Matsuyama in July. If you can put up with a longer flight, another coupla man off.
scouser 4
I once went back via Kuala Lumpar. It added a seriously large amount of hours to the journey. That way you basically fly down to Malaysia, wait 6 hours in the airport for the connection, then fly back up north - right up to near Japan!!! It was about 16 hours longer in total than usual I was absolutely knackered after that one and it is NOT recommended. I'll gladly spend even 50,000 yen more to avoid that tiresome nightmare again.
