taguchi 0
Quote: He said he invaded Kuwait "for the Iraqi people" and referred to Kuwaitis as "dogs", for which he was rebuked by the judge. Is "dogs" a common bad word to call somebody?
veronica 2
It's almost funny in a screwed up kind of way.
Ocean11 0
Why would he give up? It wouldn't be much in his interest to be hanged by the neck until dead, and he still has a lot of cards to play. And you can bet that his captors haven't anticipated all the consequences of his playing them either (just like they didn't anticipate some of the altogether predictable aspects of invading Iraq in the first place). Don't forget that people in that region have been keeping a closer tally on who has killed whom than we have, and that in terms of sheer numbers and indiscriminate killing, his captors are likely to be seen to have a higher score... miteyak 0
The news is rather amusing... What did everyone expect, this isn't the wizard of Oz (it's a fairy tale folks, much like most US rhetoric). One doesn't remove the machine to find a snivelling little old man in glasses behind it. Saddam, exiled from an early age returns to Iraq to take power and rule a divided nation with an iron fist for nearly half a century. This man, to give him credit, has got to have been a phenomenally powerful, sly, ruthless individual, if he hadn't been someone else would've taken his role long ago. We are talking about the mans character, and that's not going to change just by removing him from power. Enough of fat white men in suits (who'd wet themselves at the first sight of trouble) on TV talking about Saddam as if he's a pathetic halfwit third world scared old ex-dictator. He's still a shrewd, dangerous individual, who has a lot left in him yet It's not over til the fat lady loses her footing on the trap door, or in this case, the legacy could continue long after

bobby12 0
In these days of several 24/7 channels, why is it that I cannot watch these interviews between the judge and Saddam live? Instead they just give us the odd snippet quote, such as the one above about why he invaded Kuwait. Its quite dissapointing.
Curt 1
In case he says something they want to edit most likely.
mattlucas 0
Bobby12 your not serious are you. I bet you watched the OJ trial as well. Court TV is so boring.
Fattwins 0
Whatever the outcome it surely will be timed nicely with the election. My theory has always been that the closer we get to the election the more the hieghtened alert levels will rise. It will be an interesting if not scary 4 to 5 more monthes. Fattwins 0
As the election draws near I believe we will see more of this. http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNews/story/CTVNews/1089302919945_84712119/?hub=TopStories
