apparently, most japanese insurance companies do not differentiate between "injury insurance" 傷害保険 and "mountain climbing insurance" 山岳保険. "mountain climbing insurance" seems to be just a euphemism.

u have to look at the fine print of each policy at each company you're interested in. what a pain. and it's in japanese.

if anyone knows any good policies or insurance companies, pls PM me.

looking for a policy that will cover me year-round, cover rescue, heli, transport from mt. to hospital, daily hosp. fees, surgery; coverage of rescuer(s) and their stay.

yearly premium budget between 5-15,000 yen.

anything else to consider when looking for a good policy, please add. cheers

I checked the policy on this website:

http://kshj.co.jp/

And it doesnt look like it covers you for what

would normally be covered by Japanese national

heath insurrance.

Anyone know of any places which will cover you

for the entire hospital bill ? I have private

health insurrance and it doesnt cover snowboarding.
