SirJibAlot 0
Phoenix park is ok, but I found it bizzarre that all the snowboarders completely remove the board from both boots and walk on and off the lift. I must of jibbed off of at least 10 people that were walking off the lift that day....bizzarre. -SJA
thursday 1
I like the storm trooper helmets that patrol have at Pheonix Park. That's about all that I like of that resort. Oh, and the underground tunnel from the hotel to the 7-11. Good beer route without having to go outside.
Curt 1
Storm trooper helmets for patrol. Cool. They are white of course?
rach 1
Were they told to do that Sir Jib or just copying each other?
SirJibAlot 0
rach, I think they were just following each other. I walked on the lift on the first run up since I hadn't strapped in yet - but after that I kept my left foot locked in. The lift crew and the patrol didn't hassle me and I saw a couple of other shredders keep one foot in. Not quite sure why they do it that way. It sure made for some interesting dismounts for me. -SJA
thursday 1
I saw a lot more one foot in than walkers. The Korean slopes are much much more crowded than in Japan.
snowboarding-sam 0
Sounds like Japan 10-15 years ago. Are they having their "ski boom" now?
quattro 1
It was crowded when I was there in the late 90's. I'm sure it's worse now. Back then they were saying skiing is the winter golf.
thursday 1
I was there 2001, 2002, 2003 at different resorts, Bears Town, Yong Pyong, Pheonix. It was CRAZILY crowded and dangerous. People were getting rammed from behind cos the slopes were just so packed.
grungy-gonads 54
Sounds like Naeba circa 1989. I remember seeing some photos of the place, just madness it was you could hardly see the snow.
thursday 1
Hardly see the snow for the one piece suits and haircuts.
joshnii 2
I remember some friends telling me they once waited 1 hour to get on a 400 meter "Romance" lift. Sounds like a lot of fun that.
