sanjo 2
from Sanjo we went through Ojiya and "shindo nana no machi" Kawaguchi (you might have heard of those places on the news in recent months). They seemed to have more snow than Yuzawa. Not as many destroyed buildings on show as I thought there might be, but some horrific sights all the same. The main thing we noticed was the road.... from Nagaoka to Horinouchi, Route 17 is VERY bumpy in places.
DokiDokiWakuWaku 0
They cleaned the road up pretty quick didn't they, so it seems anyway. Where was that really really broken up road was that route 17?
Sebb 0
Yes it was (well one of the places was) - we drove up there to a friend in Niigata city the other week. Pretty bumpy up there. The place where the road had collapsed was still being remade, slight detour taking you round.
oblivion 5
Have they made any decision what they're gonna do with that mountain town that was destroyed? (What was it, Yamakushi or something)
KlingKlang 1
How did the tunnels hold up?
