Last week Japan experienced a huge winter storm. It started snowing heavily on monday and didn't stop till friday. Some places in northern Hida received more than 2 metres of snow.
That was from my SJ journal just a week after the storm

I crashed my car a day before it started and had to ride my bike to work during the worst of it.

My friend who was staying with me at the time was skiing all through it at a local hill here. It said it was beyond epic. He had to borrow my bigstix cause his fat skis wern't fat enought. I hated him.

Yeah I remember the Monday as being one of the best powder days ever. It started with a little in the morning and ended with massive amounts. We were at Happo and it snowed a foot in one hour as we were having lunch. Our tracks were filled after each run. We ran the trees along the northern ridge and it just kept getting better every run. Finished the day off boarding straight down to Momonoki onsen.
