Ocean11 0
That's the thing - what you can do at one resort, you can't do at another without being harassed constantly. Or what you can do at one resort one day, you can't do the next time you go. It's got nothing to do with being 'bad' or 'irresponsible'. You can ride through the trees at Nozawa and not get hassled, but try it at Cortina when the visibility's good, and you'll have 6 patrol and 5 lifties looking out for you, and trying to grab you. It doesn't happen all the time at all resorts, but when it does, it can really spoil an otherwise safe and enjoyable day.
frannyo 2
If they see you at Nozawa, will they hassle you - or is it just a case that they havent seen you doing it? Every resort can have their own rules, nothing wrong with that.
zwelgen 0
I find at Nozawa weekdays or if its snowing hard they dont care what you do but if its a weekend and there are loads of punters out they are much more likely to hassle you. Also by not rubbing in their faces you can get away with lots, like dont cut in right under the lift by the sign that says "dont ride off the course" go down about 10m and do it there. They are decent guys and when you get on the chair covered in powder they know you didnt get that from the piste! The knowing smile and brush down with the broom says it all. Like lots of things in Japan, if they arent made aware of it they dont have to deal with it.
