Thundercat 60
This year we decided to go all out on our year end cleaning. Not just the normal sweeping behind the fridge stuff... more like pulling apart light fixtures and the kitchen exhaust fans and scrubbing away. So far we've actually done three full days of cleaning. Still seems like there is a lot to do!
yamaski 0
Gambatte. I hate cleaning. Will feel good when it's done though.
Metabo Oyaji 71
You're cleaning already? We usually wait until 事業納め. Which is about when we start worrying about 年賀状 as well...
Thundercat 60
Seems early, right? This year I'm working until the day before we leave on vacation so we only have select days when we can actually do it. As well, we do a Christmas dinner at our house each year and it's on the 21st this year. Anyway, it'll be over soon!
klingon 10
I though the oosouji was in spring? I think I'll leave it until then. What is 事業納め?
pie-eater 207
Keep on putting it off and generally fannying around when the thought happens. Cleaning is not fun is it. But, as someone else said, nice when it's done.
Metabo Oyaji 71
What is 事業納め? Close of business for the year.
Davo 1
I did for the first time last year for a large chunk of January. Was moving out of the house and wanted the key money back! This year, well...I mowed the lawn last week and felt that was enough for the time being.
teikiatsulover 6
Isn't that what our wives do with Jiji and Baba while we go skiing, have an Onsen, and go drinking?
Go Native 70
We recently gave up on trying to keep a clean house and hired a cleaner. Much easier!
pie-eater 207
That is a good idea. My sister does that, busy as she is. Her place is always a tip when I go round though. Either the cleaner is not much good, or I go when she's due after having 3 weeks off!
Tubby Beaver 209
When me and my brother were living together back home, he wanted to hire a cleaner to come round but I thought that was a waste of money.......I preferred just living in a tip
grungy-gonads 54
I think he just wanted to play naughty with a sexy cleaner. Who wore a maids outfit.

DumbStick 13
I was really shocked at how dirty our place was once everything was out and we had to give it a bit of a clean before leaving. Yikes. We were living in that?!
Go Native 70
Our house in Japan has been rented out by a cleaning company for staff accomm. I hope they're keeping it clean!
Thundercat 60
Usually cleaning ladies are old biddies. We hired one a few years back when we were both really busy with work. She came around and lo and behold... a really cute university student cleaning as a part time job. Well, she came around once and my wife cancelled the service. My wife claims that it was because she didn't do a very good job but I think there was something else at play... Put in a few more hours of cleaning today. Our annual Christmas party starts soon so I'm sure I'll be cleaning a few more hours again tomorrow!
