pie-eater 207
It sounds as if the United imposters came a lot closer to actually making a deal than the official folk at United did all summer. Good effort I say. Sign them up, Fergie, er Moyes.
Thundercat 60
Lukaku on loan to Everton. It's about time we got a goal scorer. He will be a very welcome addition... Too bad about Fellaini leaving though. I really liked his hair!
big-will 7
And what are United thinking, shunting Bebe off like that!
rach 1
Don't really know what to make of all that lot. Fellaini is a really good player, good to have him. But can't help but feel underwhelmed.

Tubby Beaver 209
Everton really did well too....sold Fellatio but managed to bring in Lukaku (great signing IMO), Barry and McCarthy
Thundercat 60
We did well indeed at the end: IN - Barry, McCarthy and Lukaku =13m Out- Fellaini and Anichebe =33.5m And by some miracle we kept Baines. Money and good players is always nice!

NoFakie 45
Doesn't this come down to the Glazers though? ManYoo's spending has been low for years relative to their income, income that is being used to pay off the loans that bought the club. Had it not been for Ferguson's management, the fine team that was in place, and the established culture of winning, perhaps this would have been an issue much sooner. ManYoo bought Rooney, Rio, Carrick, Berbatov, etc. without quibbling over the fee and that was long before the increase in TV money and the vast array of sponsors that ManYoo in particular now have. It doesn't make sense them having to economize now.

NoFakie 45
The Glazers are grade A tw@ts and the perfect gift to any ABUs out there. If Citeh's DOF had had half a clue and offered half the money they ended up spending last season on Rodwell and Scott phreakin Sinclair as extra inticement to RVP, even last season could have been very different. Man Utd spent 30 mill on Rio years ago when that meant more, but it was money well spent. They may have got Evra and Vidic for much less, but they shouldn't have to keep finding players of that calibre at those prices. Not when they have the income to pick and choose. On the pitch, they are also up against two clubs who don't have the income but have huge benefactors pumping in as much cash as they think it takes.
