Today I was inspired by an Aussie mate to make my own pies. My home city of Dundee is well known as the centre of the Uni-Pie-verse in Scotland and is referred to locally as a "Peh". Instead of buying ready made pastry I decided to have a bash at making my own shortcrust pastry pies....and they turned out damned good!!

 

Pies are ready and about to go into the oven....

I was very surprised at how easy it was to make really good flaky pastry. Definitely gonna be making more of these bad boys!!

The pastry was super easy to make......200g flour, 100g butter, pinch of salt , bosh in food processor add a little water until it becomes firm plasticine-like material then rest in fridge for 20 mins before rolling
