“North Korea will wage second and even third rounds of attacks without any hesitation, if warmongers in South Korea make reckless military provocations again," the North's official KCNA news agency said, quoting the country’s military.

The threat of further action two days after the North’s artillery batteries bombarded a South Korean island, killing four people and destroying 22 houses, in an act that was condemned around the world.

Although winning international plaudits for his calls for restraint over the attack, South Korea’s president Lee Myung-bak, has been berated at home by South Korea’s media and even some members of his ruling party.

America is now sending a aircraft carrier to assist South Korea in it's war games off the coast of North Korea.

Would you not think that North Korea are going to see that as a sign of aggression against them?????

I think everyone needs to take a chill pill or get a Wii or something. I don't want to be dodging stray missiles on the slopes this winter lol

This is what they say:

"North Korea has warned that the impending joint military exercises by the South and the US are pushing the region to "the brink of war".

A group of naval ships, led by a nuclear-powered US aircraft carrier, is heading to the Yellow Sea to take part in the drill, due to begin on Sunday."

yeah that aircraft carrier is the one that's based at Yokusuka, the USS George Washington. The thing is massive, the biggest carrier in the British fleet looks like a row-boat in comparison.

Yes, he always provides some, er, entertainment.

People on a South Korean island shelled on Tuesday by North Korea have been ordered to evacuate the area and shelter in bunkers.

North Korea has also deployed missiles near its disputed border with the South, the Yonhap news agency reported.

It comes as the South and the United States begin four days of joint military exercises in the waters off the Korean west coast.

North Korea has condemned the exercises as a provocation.

Artillery fire has been heard near Yeonpyeong Island, which was shelled by the North on Tuesday. Four South Koreans - two marines and two civilians - were killed.

They say that every time the US and South Korea have any kind of joint military drill, be it on land or at sea. There is nothing new with their rhetoric this time around. The exercise just happens to coincide with the succession issues in the North Korean Royal Family, so it is a good opportunity for the new Kim to show the generals that he can incite then handle an international issue.
