sand 17
last lift at around 3:30 pm last run of the day down run number 13 Was a fun day, took the bus from Shinjuku in the morning. Snow was nice up the top of the mountain, snow was in good groomed condition. However, grass and dirt patches beginning to show through in spots down the bottom of run 13 (the long 2.8 km run). Was the best Christmas I've had a good while

It's the first season in Japan to properly go skiing so I didn't have anything to compare it to other than the resorts in a bus and ride brouchure from a travel agent. Based on that I chose it because as you said it looked fairly big (which it is)with a reasonable number of intermediate and advanced runs and it had a good vertical drop of 700 M. Also it was only 3,700 yen for a return bus from Shinjuku and liftpass. Left Shinjuku at 6:45am and I was on the slope by 11am and last lift was 3:30 Will definately be going back for more in January at the same price for midweek
muikabochi 208
Good reasons! Will try to make it there myself as well.

Tubby Beaver 209
Iwakura is pretty cool, went there at the end of last season and it was deserted. The snow was obviously not powder but good fun nonetheless
