ippy 66
Coming over from korea for three weeks at the start of february. I was thinking of spending 4-6 days at rustsu, maybe a couple of days at asahidake, and the rest of the time at niseko? Sound like a plan, or am i doing it wrong? Was looking for some fun powder tree riding for intermediate to advanced intermediate style stuff by the end of it. Also, are there nice cheap pensions in rusutsu, just checked the website and it sounds like theres only a 5 star bleeding hotel! Theres stuff right? Its not barren or anything. Also, asahidake might be out of the way a bit, ill be public transporting this bad boy all the way, so any other ways to kill three weeks thats relatively cheap and cost effective? -ipps
ILoveZao 8
There are not many accommodations in Rusutsu compared with another but here are two more places http://www.snowjapan.com/e/hotel/rusutsu-hokkaido-accommodation.html
Thundercat 60
Rusutsu is pretty barren mate! Also, 4 days might be a little boring... 3 might be more like it.
Mike Pow 52
I spent 11 consecutive days at Rusutsu last winter. If the snow is good, then you won't get bored
Thundercat 60
That's funny MP, I was just watching a video I made at Rusutsu last year and thought that I could actually spend a lot more time there. Disregard what I said early. If the snow is falling it'll be amazing!
seemore 66
I have never been there before but from what I can work out there are fewer people and similar snow conditions as Niseko. I know where I would rather be.
thursday 1
at the funfair in Rusutsu?
ippy 66
the question is though if youre on a bit of a budget, dont live in the area and need somewhere to stay, can the area hold my massive frame! Id love to head there for those very reasons, but it just seems like it doesnt have the access that niseko has. Is there an area attached to it with little cheap pensions with 15 to 20 minute shuttle busses? Ill happy do that if its needed.
Thundercat 60
Why not go mental and stay in Niseko but take the bus to Rusutsu... It's only 20kms down the road.
Mike Pow 52
Yep. There are cheaper alternatives to the hotels at Rusutsu. Take a look on the accommodation page
