Jamaican Bobsledder 0
Hello friends I was wondering, are there any good bobsled runs in Japan open to the public? Thank you!

BagOfCrisps 24
I must admit I have never seen one anywhere. Not in any of the countries I have been to the snow.

stemik 14
there is a bodsled at Iizuna Kogen....just outside Nagano city. I am not sure if they allow anyone on the track.
HelperElfMissy 42
There would have had to have been one from the Olympics ....
Ross 4
when we where on a tour in the area the guide said the bob sled course was still there left over from the olympics but it has never been used and is just rusting away just out side nagano
stemik 14
the Japanese bobsleigh team still train there, but it costs them to use it and they dont have that much money available. My daughters teacher's husband is one of the coaches.
iiyamadude 6
One day I'll get up there and take a look..
Jynxx 4
Pity if it is just rusting away. Bobsleds are not all that popular in Japan. They could run the place for tourist who want to "experience" what a run is like as a passenger. I think that will be good for Nagano and the sport, no?
iiyamadude 6
The idea might sound fun but in reality the problem of MONEY would make that a non starter. Not that I know anything about the situation just a guess.

thursday 1
I'd give it a try, as a passenger that is. Or you could send the mountain bikes down
HelperElfMissy 42
My boys would be up for it - even if just to say they rode a bobsled like the Jamaican Bobsled Team
