the woman calls me a beast 0
Hi folks A newbie. How long do I have to stick around to graduate from that? I have a question and a jolly good one it is too.... can someone tell me what the most popular / biggest ski-jo is in Fukushima? Thanking you.
SKI 15
Perhaps Alts Bandai?
Tubby Beaver 209
probably Alts
69 5
Alts Bandai. There's a few other places nearby, Inawashiro, Ura Bandai, etc but I reckon Alts is the biggest.
fluoroski 0
I enjoyed Inawashiro when I went a few years back. It was after a good dump of snow and the quality was excellent. Bandai is a good looking mountain.
pie-eater 207
Japan just seems so far away at the moment.........
BagOfCrisps 24
Alts was ok. Wrote about it in our trip report if you are interested.

Zer0star 0
Inawashiro has awesome views and is a fair size. Alts is more for young people who like jumps, rails etc and is very well run and modern, has the Burton Nippon open in February. Nekoma is pretty good for park too, with nice snow. Gran-deco is good for families, has the best snow but gets packed out and isn't very interesting. If you are looking for a nice quiet day try Ura-bandai ski-jo. Old lifts, hardly any people, great snow and awesome food. Really good friendly atmosphere. But my local in Fukushima is Hatori. Couldn't really recommend it if you don't live close but you can't beat the 26000 yen season pass. And one more deserves a mention- Nango. This place is underground and nuts. If you are a poser and good at park you go to Alts. If you are just damn good you go here.
cram400 0
if launching yourself off kickers, riding pipe is your thing, alts bandai.. after a good dump alts also has some decent tree skiing.. if you're after a quiet scene with good snow, urabandai nekoma.. the slopes face to the north yielding fine, light snow.. 69 5
Yes the lake up there with Bandai as well makes for some top scenery. Snow usually good in peak season as well.
fukdane 2
I don't know the numbers, but I would surely guess at Alts. It's the place I'd spend a day at if I only had one for the ken.
shingaikokujin 0
Gran-deco snow > Alts snow?

Tubby Beaver 209
Grandeco had awesome snow when I went there 2 years ago, I really enjoyed it BUT it is kinda small and can get a little repetitive for the experienced rider. I was there first thing and it didn't get busy till about 11am, so I had the top of the mountain to myself! great!
I'm Sexy 0
Alts is surely the biggest. I think also it is most fashionable / cool (?) resort in the area. Maybe that is good or bad for people!
fukdane 2
It's both good and bad. Good - park gets done good Bad - too many idol-kei dudes
Tubby Beaver 209
also a non-snow plus point is the quality of the food on the mountain, definitely the most upmarket food halls I have been to in Japan, the Burger place is very fancy!
SKI 15
Actually yes I noticed that too when I went.
