I never had a cheese fondue meal. When I look at descriptions, sometimes it says only bread into cheese/wine but sometimes potatoe and also meat. I want to know what might be best or really authentic one as I would like to try it.

Did you have one? Can you tell me about it?

Thank you

I have had authentic fondue in switzerland and I have made fondue at home. I will dig out a recipe when I get home on Monday and post it if no-one does it before me.

Good cheese is essential - and usually more than one type makes for a very yummy fondue. Into the cheese fondue it is traditional to dip bread and pickles. But I have also dipped vegetables (raw) like broccoli and cauliflower, as well as sliced green apple.

You dip the raw meat into either an oil fondue or a broth fondue.

no - shabu-shabu uses broth. its more like kushiage.

my recipe

350ml dry white wine, ie Sauvignon Blanc

300g Gruyère cheese, grated

300g Emmental cheese, grated

3 tsp cornflour

2-3 tbsp Kirsch

Freshly ground black pepper

some people had garlic - I prefer not to.

you can also use vacherin or appenzeller, hell even comte would be ok. But please please PLEASE don't think cheddar works.

a cuddly toy, a train set, an ironing board, a pair of cushions, a feather duster, a fondue set.

"didn't he do well"

"Nice to see you, to see you nice"

See? fondue sets do come in handy.

you won't be eating it, so somebody has to. The wine would really help.
