Yeah, oil has been well down on the peak price of late, but we are still being slugged at the bowser! Today AUD 1.29 a litre for Unleaded.

Perhaps nothing to do with fuel prices - the down turn means people not holidaying as much = reduction in passengers. It's like giving discounted tickets to make it sweeter.

Ummm ... fuel surcharges not got to do with fuel prices?? The reason given when they were introduced was to cover the rapidly (at that time) escalating cost of fuel. How is it now nothing to do with fuel cost?

Fuel surcharge is definitely to do with the price of fuel.

It has come down lately but not to the extentof abolishion.

Various offers from airlines too are aimed at getting people to fill their planes. Business travel has gone down the toilet. Selling just coach seats will make them a loss. Interesting how long they'll survive.

Just keep my HKG - CTS open.

With KLM, the ticket has gone up since yesterday but the fuel charge is down. Net for us would be 8000 yen off. About 10 man still. BA (god forbid) is 115,000. That's for flights soon. Dunno about summer.

Yes BA is always a rip off. We went with JAL to london recently and through their website was the cheapest we could find, cheaper than an agent and also flying direct! It was still about 9man each though. KLM was always cheapest in the past but this year I found their online prices much higher.
