muikabochi 208
Cloudy earlier this morning but it looked like clearing up and I saw the sunny cams from Yuzawa, so decided to take a trip to the Kandatsu resort this morning. Luckily the sun was out over Kandatsu most of the time (lots of cloud to the north and south though) and I had a fine morning there, along with the other 6 or 7 people at the resort. Scarily not busy, it was very very quiet, but there was some very fine snow to enjoy. I quite like this resort on a weekday - it can get very busy on weekends - and there was quite a lot of untouched pockets of powder to be found. This place couldn't be much easier to get to from Tokyo. Just a couple of minutes from Yuzawa IC and less than 10 minutes by shuttle bus from the main Echigo Yuzawa station. Here's some pics: http://www.snowjapan.com/e/insider/member_photo_gallery.php?userGallery=226 Until the next sunny day.

muikabochi 208
It is. That's Iwappara and over the hill behind that mountain, looking north, is Minamiuonuma (where I live).

sanjo 2
Kandatsu wasn't that busy muika glad to report. Snow was pretty good. They still obviously are short though that main mogul run in front of the central building was covered with visible plantlife sticking up. Can't compete with you on photos, but I threw some up to my gallery if you are interested.
