Mike Pow 52
All the places mentioned are great. Her ranking is subjective, but who's isn't? This comment is ridiculous and makes her look like an idiot Quote: Avalanche beacons will not save you in an avalanche
Rag-Doll 0
Interesting though to see further evidence of a growing international awareness of Hakuba and a move away from the constant Niseko hype we were getting a few years ago. To be expected, but interesting nonetheless.
Fattwins 0
Come on Mike the off piste in Niseko doesnt even hold a candle to the stuff here. Thus Hakuba made it into the top ten of off piste, it rightfully should.
Mike Pow 52
Why with the Niseko all the time? I was questioning her subjectivity of putting NZ front and centre. That is all.

It's also pointless wearing one if you're buddy isn't wearing one either, nor knows how to use the one he/she does have. granted, it's not written in the clearest fashion
Mike Pow 52
It's not out of context. You could easily put a full stop after 'avalanche' and before 'it's' for both new sentences to make sense.
Kumapix 0
no, it is out of context. just having 'avalanche beacons will not save you in an avalanche' makes her sound a little extreme. However, when you read the context ie the rest of the sentence you can see her point. She's just trying to say that the beacon alone will not save you, you need someone who knows how to use the beacon to save you.
Rag-Doll 0
On a different point, those club resorts in NZ sound pretty good.

Fattwins 0
As it is a blog i think she might be given some slack via the editors. As it is an Aussie site some off piste near auz should rank up there. It is a bit of an advertorial.
Mike Pow 52
Agree with 2 & 3. But don't think this is some random blog. It's the Sydney Morning Herald after all.

thursday 1
Blogs, seemingly the voice of the people, have become a tool for the media. Once called infomercials, now come as blogs. Watch out for those nasty ones calling themselves part time investors and how they made their millions. They are stock spikers.
grungy-gonads 54
I watch out for none of them. Blog is a silly word.
