Interesting thing on the news now about a love hotel in Osaka right next to an elementary school and how they are bending the rules by calling themselves a business hotel but obviously operating as a love hotel.

Seems you can't have a love hotel within 200m of

- school

- kindergarden

- hospital

- police

So now you know.

It's really like the "services" in the past where the word "call girl" originated from. Just ask the hotelman and he calls a service and voila!

...not like I know this from personal experience or anything...

Police - they don't want the policemen runnig away from the koban for quickies?

Hospitals - they probably want to keep the noise down from the associated business environment that sprouts up around love hotels.

I was under the impression they were generally used by legit couples who need some space from the family for a bit of romance due to the tight quarters of the average Japanese home, and multi generations under the one roof.

Am I mistaken?

Is it more often used for naughty-naughties than nice-naughties?
