mattlucas 0
I would but then wouldn't have anything to use. Its working though. Its snowing outside my school right now.
snobee 0
Jeezuz - trying to enlighten some of the locals about the hazards of burning recyclables(dioxins, PCB's etc.) and s-l-o-w-l-y it's sinking in. If you want to enact a "please snow" ritual, why don't you make a straw effigy of your honourable self, resplendent in full gear, skis....etc and drop the match. Powder will fall. Better still don't burn anything, make a bench seat and table set from the skis, and have a beer while contemplating carve heaven.
indosnm 0
yeah Snobee mee too! All the locals here burn everything, pisses me. fatty, i thought you canadians were supposed to be environment loving tree hugging fellas! Burning ski's don't fit that image!
Ocean11 0
Me too. This was a slightly hyperbolic image I cobbled together for my leaflet that I handed to my neighbours in Yamanashi who burned everything in horrible incinerators like in the picture.
Fattwins 0
Damm you guys rag on our traditions too much. Yeah once a year we ski bums gather round a ski fire and consume a large volume of beer. Its part of the ski bum culture, if you have never bummed then I don’t think you will really understand. It’s not just about snow it’s about cheering on your friends hoping for a safe season so we can a have that end of the year party.
snobee 0
Yeh - I remember when the first big spring swells pushed in me and my mates had a beach party to drink in the new season and good waves - and we all burnt our old boards.
mattlucas 0
Hey though. It worked. I have had snow for two days in Takayama. And some of it has actually stuck around.
Fattwins 0
Now that it worked I will 100% burn one more pair this weekend. ullr dont be overpowered by the warm front too much, let it in a little, suck its energy AND SPIT IT THE FUK OUT!
mattlucas 0
Keep it up. Why on earth didn't you start this a few weeks ago when we were all crying about the heat.
Fattwins 0
had to get the wife to agree she is on board now. Just hope I dont piss the neighbours off too much.
damian 0
I have been doing my bit as well. last night I sacrificed a virgin. It seems to have helped. (It was a bit of a shame as she was the first virgin I have ever met, so you better enjoy the snow, they are hard to come by).
mattlucas 0
Well .db. Ullr was a Viking. He might take offense to that. You maybe should have done the deed and then sacrificed her. Or are vikings all about sacrificing Virgins. Either way this will be really really good. Or really really bad.
damian 0
Ullr, besides having a stupid sounding name, who the hell is he?? It had nothing to do with this Ullr chap. I just felt like topping a virgin, Patrick Bateman style. In the meantime it has started to snow. The perfect +1.0 correlation is striking, ne?
Fattwins 0
burning more as I write nice old ones mostly wood. come on ullr give me a reason to get to hakuba next weekend.
mattlucas 0
I skiied Happo-one on Sunday. It was lots of fun. Blue sky and not to busy. Runs were really wide and coverage was pretty good. Even hiked up below the top chair and got some pretty nice powder turns. Did that twice. Felt great.
