nekobi 0
hmmm i never put my summer tires on. thats not too bad, is it?
Ocean11 0
Not changing your tyres means that their winter effectiveness is impaired by wear on the tread, and snow tyres perform far worse on wet rather than snowy roads. And changing your tyres yourself makes your hands dirty.
ProbablyaCrazyPerson 2
2000 yen? My local gasoline stand charge 3500 yen for that.
Ocean11 0
Ripoff. 500 yen per tyre is a reasonable price to pay.
sanjo 2
I went to 6 different places last night in my town (there are only 6). All of them charging either 700 or 800 yen per tyre. Things generally cheap down there are they O11?
Ocean11 0
That was in Nagano. So far there hasn't been any reason to change them down here. Sadly. It would surely be worth your while driving to Nagano to get your tyres changed at those prices.
sanjo 2
I will get my calculator out and see! Thanks!
kintaro 0
Broke my leg in March, couldn't drive until June so I left the snow tires on. Usually when I have my tires changed from summer to winter they balance them as well (for a fee, of course). How often is that actually neccessary?? Anyone?
akibun 0
Two times in year when changing the tyre.
Ocean11 0
If you have 2 sets of wheels, when you change them you should try to have any tyres that have been repaired (plugged) put on the back. That way if they happen to fail on the highway, you'll still be able to steer somewhat. As for balancing, you only need that done if you only have 1 set of wheels and you keep changing the tyres on the wheels themselves. That's when the balance goes out of whack.
