For Windows XP users, which version are you using Home or Professional? I use Home and was looking at info on Vista but what exactly is the difference between these 2 XPs?

Basically the difference is the networking component.

Home is minus the networking capabilities, i.e. pro is used in networked environments so you can control each XP machine through group policies and security templates. This means you can join it to a server and have the server control all the xp machines.

not necessary for home users

And yeah I use Pro for a few reasons, but most people will only need home

Pro at the office, and Home at home. The only salient difference really is the networking capablility (you can still do a small "home network" with XPHome). Very stable.

Haven't had the chance to break Vista yet...

I certainly won't be one of the first to switch to Vista (unless my PC packs it in and I have no choice), I might wait for Vista SP2 before taking the plunge. MS has a pretty bad record with first release software...
