nitaperkins 0
Hi, I am planning to go to Niseko for the upcoming winter season. I have read on an article on this site that it's possible to teach English there. Does anyone have any info where or how? Are there any companies there or do people just do private tutoring? Any info would be awesome. Cheers, Anita (New Zealand) anitajperkins@yahoo.co.nz
Yuki's Passion 1
With all the foreigners up there itd be easier to work at a pension or one of the companies up there. Can you teach skiing or snowboarding? Do you (although maybe not needed) have any japanese skills? As far as lessons go, Im sure most of the locals up there have them and wont let go of em... Fattwins 0
From what ive heard there is an AET position through the JET program. So that means you have to try through that program.
cal 6
I would think there is more demand to learn Japanese than English. (Nesshipu being a largely English speaking place and all)
Yuki's Passion 1
The Jet position is in Kutchan - not an easy position to get.
Rag-Doll 0
Anita, If the English traching gig doesn't work out, you might be interested to know that finding a decent babysitter in Niseko is quite a struggle. The growth in self contained apartments up there means there are a lot more families heading up who need someone (anyone!) to look after the ankle biters even if it is for a couple of hours. nitaperkins 0
Thanks for the info. What about nearby places like Kutchan? Or are there any cities that you can commute to (within about an hour) (I have CELTA and a BA Hons degree too.) Cheers, Anita
bobby12 0
How about sapporo and commuting for the weekends? seems the easiest way unless u have to be on the slopes every day.
