spook 0
Well, there seem to be quite a few London-based people on here, so if anyone is free tonight, my friend Tyler is showing his new surf flick tonight at a pub in Angel. He shot the footage over a couple of months in Indo, and is putting it on tonight as a fundraiser for SurfAid. A couple of other friends are playing some funky/jazzy tunes before and after the film. People from The Surfer’s Path, Quicksilver and the Indonesian Embassy are coming down. Its gonna be a fun night, so come along if you can. Details are below: World Surf Movie Premier and Tsunami Relief Fundraiser to Take Place in London The Time Away: An Indonesian Collage Monday, July 11 8pm @ The Lark In The Park Price: £5 admission Presented By The Surfers Path About 1 year ago I spent some time traveling through the region of Indonesia, surfing, videoing and getting to know the people of this beautiful archipelago. I found myself affected by how incredibly giving and warm the people of Indonesia were. Surfing turned out to be a side note as the people and the culture became my main source of enjoyment. Months later the devastating Tsunami had struck. My heart dropped knowing that friends that I had made could be hurt or killed. On Monday July 11th The Lark in the Park will host a surf movie that I had made about Indonesia. It is an opportunity for surfers and non-surfers in London to get together and enjoy some surf footage, talk story, listen to some live Brazilian jazz music and most importantly a chance to help Tsunami Victims. All proceeds will be donated to Surf Aid (www.surfaidinternational.org) an organization with the mission to significantly improve the health of the Mentawai people and to encourage and to coordinate the support of the global surfing community. Please Join me on this evening to spread the Aloha Spirit. Thank you, -Tyler Breuer The Lark In The Park 60 Copenhagen St. London Nearest tube stations Angel or Kings Cross (Preferably Angel) from Angel tube station 10 min walk and from King's Cross 15 min. damian 0
cheers mate, I love surfing. Had a great time. The flick captured everything I would like to enjoy every day of my life. With the crew that was there I felt like I was back home . London took a big fat back seat, if only for a few hours.

The photographer is a friendly Cornish lass.

A premier city that shuts down its everyday drinking bars at 11pm. I stay at work later than that. My recently arrived mate from Oz has almost been in tears over the issue after we happily arrived at teh bar circa 10pm, just to have it shut. Anyway, I'll check out the surf pics as well. Woywoy - I got to the LDM quite often, when is your mates boards going in? And will he sell me one . I am desperately and urgently looking for a 7’3” semi gun and no guesses how hard that is to find in the UK. spook 0
ok, this seems to be turning into a london events thread... theres a red bull rail contest in trafalgar square this weekend: http://www.transworldsnowboarding.com/snow/news/article/0,13009,1131450,00.html having never attended a snowboard contest before i can't decide whether it'll be good fun to watch, or horrificly boring (stupid MC's talking nonsense, crap bands, not much actual snowboarding action)
