alferg 0
was sniffing around the JAL site, & discovered its free to join the Mileage Bank program, & they're doing this double points promo at the moment - who says there's no such thing as a free lunch!!? http://www.jal.com.au/jmb/default.htm http://www.jal.co.jp/jalmile/ao_e/how.html http://www.jal.co.jp/jmb/ao_e/cam1.html

RobBright 35
Probably explains why they are now $15bn in debt.
bobby12 0
JAL mileage program is great, we have a credit card with them so everything we buy pulls in points. If you shop at AEON places you get double points. If you use WAON you get points for charging it and again when spending with it. We racked up 80000 points in 6 months, I think its enough for 2 adults to fly to hawaii return.

I am rather ignorant to flier miles.
RobBright 35
Do you have Aeon and Waon in the states?
mitchpee 10
Don't think so, is this a requirement?
bobby12 0
You would need to be in Japan to get the value from the card.
RobBright 35
To get all the stuff like double points, points for charging and and spending like Bobby said, then would think so. And unless you reside in Japan, then you can't get the card.
mitchpee 10
Makes sense, was worth an effort at least haha.
thursday 1
I've had Mileage Bank since 2001 I think. Never use it.
stemik 14
be wary...some mileage banks have a period if you do not use..all the miles are lost.
thursday 1
it's a good job I had no miles then. Same with ANA, I just applied, and never flew ANA.
sunrise 0
I have a JAL credit card, have enough for my next Europe trip, if JAL is still alive by next year when I want to go.... I'll have to check out AEON, etc.... don't even know what they are, just know the name!
bobby12 0
AEON have a ton of big malls, they also are behind MAX VALUE and some other supermarkets. JAL will still be around, they are basically a dept of the government and their problems have come from that (stupid flights between needless airports etc). If they sorted out their corrupt pension scheme and canceled the needless domestic flights they would be fine.
