  1. Insane amount of snow snow dude. It is really awesome to see in pictures to get a really good idea of much it snowed
  2. doesn't matter where you go in the world these days there's always an annoying foreigner somewhere. its just how you deal with that annoying foreigner that determines your experience.
  3. When I went to niseko over New Years period I didn't see too much bad behaviour from Australians, actually the Aussies I did meet were friendly and maybe a little drunk, but not too over the top. The worst behaviour I saw was actually from Americans, they came back to the accommodation at about 2am and thought it was ok to be having loud conversations and yelling and screaming. It was actually some Aussies that put a stop to that. Anyways I think when you go on holidays somewhere Its the luck of the draw on if you experience something bad. You just have to brush it off and get on with your o
  4. Anyone going to be in Zao 23rd to 26th of Feb? Would be nice to have a cruise with someone else other than my girlfriend haha
  5. Nice videos and pics posted, makes me miss Niseko a lot! by the way I left my brother behind at Grand Hirafu near where you buy tickets and near the road and near a yellow sign pointing to where buses enter can someone check to see if he is still alive and ok? He is most likely buried under all that powder. Description is he got a big round body and round head, blue eyes and is wearing coffee lids, he may also have a mouth that resembles a straw. There is also a picture below. I am terribly worried about him and believe he may need some more coffee lids to stay alive
  6. Seems like that it's about 40km from tajima airport to hkk. I had another look and cannot find a direct bus with out lift tickets to hkk. So I think your options are take a bus even though it includes lift ticket and maybe organise with the company to come back on another day. Take a train to a station close to a station close to hkk. Toyooka, youka, or wadayama stations then take a taxi there. Or you can fly to tajima airport and take a taxi from there.
  7. Yeah they are all mainly for day trippers cause even though there is accommodation there usually people with cars will stay at accommodation. Plus I couldn't find anything else that goes there with out lift ticket or day trip. He might be able to book one of these day trip bus tickets but go back on another day, but he would have to ring directly I think.
  8. There is no direct bus to hachikitakogen from kansai airport. You will have to get to shin osaka station or sannonomiya station in Kobe to be able to catch a bus there. Buses tend to leave quite early around 7am. Cost of the bus ticket varies depending on the day. Weekdays are cheapest and weekends most expensive. 5900 yen return on most weekdays and nearly double that on weekends.
  9. I researched some stuff but its nice to hear some things from people that have been there. But thanks for the advice on keeping eye out for the flats
  10. I have my first trip to Zao booked for the 23rd-26th of Feb. Anything I need to know about the place? How is it for beginners? I have to teach my stubborn girlfriend how to snowboard, should be fun!
  11. Hey Mike Snowjapan weather reports show its going to be quite windy among many of the resorts in Hokkaido including niseko from Friday. Are snowjapan wind forecasts quite accurate?. Do you think there is going to be many lifts stopping due to wind conditions?
  12. Do you remember Cheeze tv back in the 90's? rockin kick as cartoons in the morning haha
  13. Me and the gf went to Hakuba last year and she tried snowboarding for the first time. She had done skiing as a kid. I tried to teach her but after 2 days she said boarding is to hard and gave up and went back to skii's. Either I am a bad teacher or her ability to learn isn't very high. Either way trying to learn something new as you get older gets much more difficult than say when you are young. Atleast when you are young you are more daring and not as afraid to fall over and hurt yourself. As you get older your mind tells you no no no stop
