  1. Hey Dools Maybe you should have a read of this thread you may get some ideas - Maybe Kutchan Train Station or Chitose Airport http://www.snowjapanforums.com/ubbthread...n_M.html#UNREAD
  2. That was so funny I was reading it and it said Cathy, Sing, ANA and Nepal. NEPAL isn't that the national airline that carry people, pigs, lama's, chickens etc. I think they would have to pay me a surcharge to fly them OR I would have to refuel the plane myself to know that there was actually enough fuel in it for my flight. (my apologies to any nepalese natives I may have offend).
  3. Yeah I agree with Thursday. Ace Run is perfect for beginners then they see the beginners run at the top of the mountain, which is also really good, and venture up there BUT I certainly wouldn't recommend the run back to the bottom to beginner beginners.
  4. Yeah we were a little confused about that. They don't normally have cars there do they?? Hey here is another question for you Mike. Is Andy's back this year??
  5. I have made a big note to visit Stellars Place whilst in Sapporo - Sounds like every girls dream multi level shopping and food to keep us going while we shop. A little worried what is wrong or what is Shinjuku ni-choume??
  6. HI Mattus My advice is same as others buy a decent jacket spend a little more because there is nothing worse than being cold. I spent more than I wanted on my jacket but didn't regret it when I didn't get cold at all in Japan this year. The other REALLY important thing with your jacket make sure it has a powder skirt. Merino wool thermals are the BEST and don't forget good quality socks. If you are skiing get Mittens not gloves. Take a trip down to Snowbiz in Southport Mall they are the best PM me for the guys name who is really good (we only deal with him). We went to Snowbiz i
  7. Hey Mantas - Yeah we watched the game as well. I was a little disappointed at the Aussies advancing at the New Zealanders while they did the Haka. I feel let them do it, it gee's everyone up and the crowd love it. It's not like they have only just started doing it, It is a tradition (apparently) and they do it before every game whether it be league or union and have been for years.

Sorry for the dig JB you won't have any problem finding some Aussies to have several beers with on New Years. HAVE A GREAT TIME!!
  9. As usual GREAT REPORT & PHOTO Mike Thanks Day was a little depressing over here in Oz - Logged on first thing to see the massive queues and knee deep powder and all the webcams were down Looks like you are meant to have light snow all day LUCKY LUCKY!!! I don't know what we will do over here if the cams don't come back on.
  10. I think it sounds like crap. Doesn't practice make perfect and if you are out practicing (or boarding) on your day off doesn't that equate to improving your skill to pass onto students. I certainly wouldn't want lessons from someone that wasn't honing their skills and exploring the local terrain. I believe that in NZ, AUS and Canada you get a season pass. I know my niece was working on a ski desk in a resort in Canada and she got free skiing the whole time she was there.
  11. I agree I think we have been in recession for the last 3 weeks but if the media keep putting fear into people they will get more headlines and news.
  12. Oh and another thing D if you keep your receipt you can change your money back without a fee. Or you could early this year.
  13. Sorry I am a bit naive. Is Daikon Japanese Radish?? I am addicted to Japanese Radish ever since I went to japan. Can some one please tell me a good way to prepare them Raw. We have just been having them raw in salad or with cottage cheese dip.
  14. HI Brett Don't exchange your money at the post office it is not a very good option. We go online and order through Travelex and they send it to your local Harvey World Travel. They used to offer the best rates, I am not looking yet as I am still hoping it is going to jump back up to 80yen before we go (I can dream)
  15. Very interesting article. I wonder though how bad the ski resorts will be affected because most people are booked and paid up. Other people seem to still be booking to come. I feel the real impact will be 2010 when the recession really starts hitting people.
  16. Surfed all the webcams I could find today regularly and was very excited by what I saw. I did notice on SJ Niseko Now web cam there where some tracks in the snow WOULD THEY BE YOURS MIKE?? I wonder if the NON skiers in Japan get as excited about the snow fall as we all do??
  17. Looking ~ Waiting ~ Looking Webcams super depressing No clouds in the sky and even sunny, no snow anywhere? Hopefully will wake up tomorrow and MP will be making fresh tracks!!
  18. Okay I know I am now going to be considered the NISEKO lover on this forum because I always recommend it to new comers BUT GO TO NISEKO - It is great for your first introduction to Japan. Niseko is very easy to get around, very safe, plenty of restaurants both Japanese and European to choose from. English speaking staff. I can be a little fussy (vegetarian)with my food and I had NO PROBLEMS at all. There are places where the kids can still get Hot Dogs, Pies and chips, Hamburgers (NOT something we did) etc BUT really give the japanese food a go you wont be disappointed. If you
  19. Wild and Wooly day here yesterday. Massive storms - Large Hail - destructive winds - Lightning Strikes. Glad to report all animals are AOK WELCOME TO SUMMER IN OZ!!

  21. Yummy I love trifle Some one always makes it for Christmas day. Don't forget to put some sherry in it. Also another alternative is to use a jam sponge roll.
  22. I don't think this classifies as Important news but it gets the vote for CUTEST news of the day. http://au.youtube.com/watch?v=CR36vpd-eGg (Sorry very computer dumb & blonde and have NO IDEA how to post the actual video )
