  1. oh yeah... seems we are taking after the US in a BIG way (pun intended). Personally I am heading in the other extreme - currently looking into sprouting, wheatgrass growing, microherbs and other multiharvest greens - as far as possible from FAST food, but these things keep popping up, and they MUST be making a motza to stay open.
  2. Maybe an area where foot traffic is higher?I am thinking International Success here. Basically if you don't have a car in Perth - you are fooked. Loads of these takeaway joints on main roads but not so much easy access for loads of foot traffic. In fact many of them have taken to having TWO order lines with speaker boxes that merge to one for pick up.
  3. Correct. And here in Perth we've got Chicken Treat, Hungry Jacks, Red Rooster, KFC, Macca's and countless types of drive through coffee. They all do well, because they have drive throughs.
  4. One answer. DRIVE THRU! Honestly, I reckon if there was a drive thru Sumo Salad, or even a drive through 'food court' style set up - you'd make a mint. People like the convenience of driving up to a window, ordering something, driving a bit further, paying, driving a bit further and driving away with it. Yes there are walk in users, but I reckon the viability would plummet if they stopped the drive through.
  5. I'm interested in the story behind that selection in the first place... Was it just that he registered on Thursday... Or that Friday is Freaking AWESOME, and Thursday is the thing before freaking awesome arrives? Or maybe that Wednesday (Adams) is freaky, but our Thursday is a step more freaky again? So many questions...
  6. Havin' a cry there pies? Lets get back to spending this windfall shall we? Lets Millionaires
  7. Kiroro: 8 (-) Niseko Grand Hirafu: 17(+) Rusutsu: 10 I've struggled to vote between these 3. Never been to Kiroro - suppose that needs rectifying - and I feel guilty for giving it a (-) without having been there, I love Rusutsu, but Grand Hirafu has to get the vote for me...so much to explore, never fails to deliver, some of the most amazing fun I've ever had.
  8. Made some Sweet Potato Hot Chips for the boys before Water Polo Training this afternoon. Perfect for a cold afternoon pick me up before plunging in the cold water. Pinched some myself - much yummier than plain hot chips.
  9. no snow in the outlook until Thursday from what it seems... That is very bad news because we are almost back to unskiable on the lower slopes. Glad I left on Friday before the rain hit.
  10. Kiroro: 5 Niseko Annupuri: 7 Niseko Grand Hirafu: 9 Niseko Hanazono: 4 (+) Niseko Village: 1 (-) Rusutsu: 9 Hadn't voted until now but had to rectify Ippy's damage to Hanazono. Niseko Village...meh... But I've got loads of awesome memories of playing in Strawberry Fields with my boys - including walking out
  11. Oh God Thursdays back to doing his forum equivalent of dumpster diving for old threads. LOL
  12. I'll raise you up Kosi, off the Bluff, cut back through to Little Beauty and True Blue - on a freshies day of course
  13. True that!! The cubs were asking me why people were downloading on Gunbarrel today (most ski school kids, but some adults) - I said to them...well they probably finish up at Friday Flat and are not up to riding down High Noon. Shoulda seen their WTF faces. Come on boys...you were beginners once! there's no denying it can test you in some spots. Some care required on the second steep section today, but other than that (and the small runout spot where carnage ruled) it was riding awesome.
  14. Good on you Goz!! Bringing another girl boarder through! Got in this arvo and had a few laps down High Noon. Was good. Yep, some murky coloured spots...needs more snow, but for the most part was excellent condition. The new run out was hilarious! End of day lower mountain slush moguls on the final bit of pitch which isn't all that wide. It was carnage! Most particularly the skiers were stacking it, few boarders, but overwhelming not suited to skiers. When u have 3 down it then becomes quite the obstacle course. Care required, and awareness of people around you, and your own abil
  15. well, of course....I meant with THAT partner Got no problem with taking her from low intermediate to hellsyeah rider... But it takes a very strong relationship to survive falling leaf, 'weight on the FRONT foot', learning to turn, learning to link those turns...
  16. Must be true love Rule number one: Do NOT teach your partner to snowboard. Rule number two: Do NOT teach your partner to snowboard. Rule number three: If you ever want to have sex again, do NOT teach your partner to snowboard. Mate of mine is instructing at Perisher, handball it to him and go get some turns, silly boy!!!
  17. The issue is getting it to stay on there without being thick and nasty.I have found it a bit easier if you stick your fillets in the freezer for a while (not necessarily to freeze them) before dipping in the thinner batter - the cold sets the batter firmer to the fillet - then whack that thing straight into the oil. Bit too much like hard work, and too much cleaning up after. Get a professional to do it in their kitchen I say.
  18. Just in time to get more terrain open for Mama and the Cubs Keep it coming!!
  19. same here. Some points converted to FF points (just booked the cub to Japan for the season on points - thank you Qantas) Will have a gander at rewards in case there are any good value items that will make perfect Christmas Gifts, the rest in gift cards. Christmas shopping for extended family is often 80% done on reward point gift cards.
