  1. Quote: Has anybody seen a long range forecast that suggest when the first big dump might actually hit Niseko... I'm sick of 20cm's every day You're obviously skiing/riding in the wrong places if ~20 cm each day is not enough for you.
  2. MONDAY 17th - SATURDAY 22nd DECEMBER 78cm of pow at HQ. LOTS more on the mountain. Superlight and fun as hell. We didn't get enough today, so went out for some floodlit turns Claire getting hers in Konayuki

  4. Good coverage above King 4. Should be open IMHO. Avalanche risk is rated as low, so that can't be the reason.
  5. SUNDAY 16 DECEMBER 2007 22cm in the past 24hrs at HQ Photos? The evidence m'lord Thomsy getting balls deep in Rinkan Kath in Rinkan Shelley waist deep in Hanazono Thomsy playing hide & seek in Hanazono
  6. SATURDAY 15 DECEMBER 2007 27cm in the past 24 hrs Dumping as I write. Got a little cooler so pow should be lighter today. Yours truly enjoying the wet pow yesterday

It was certainly deeper than 9cm on the hill this morning. Denser, heavier snow than we know and love, but still great turns to be had. 9. Measure on a flat deck next to my house that is unaffected by any wind transport. Only got one pair of sticks - Salomon Equipe slalom skis. With the exception of 'elephant snot' which makes for more tiring turns they're right for me for here. 'You've got to be in it to win it'
  10. FRIDAY 14 DECEMBER 2007 Started snowing in earnest about 9pm last night. Coming down at roughly a cm an hour overnight. Measured 9cm this morning (6am) and it's coming down heavier as I write (8am). Wetter, denser snow down in the village. Should be light above the top of Ace #2 chair.

  12. FRIDAY 07 DECEMBER - MONDAY 10 DECEMBER No pics. Sorry. 28cm in this time frame at village level. 3.11m measured outside my house to date. Snowed most of today and the 'crunch' from the weekend's sunshine has disappeared. Supposed to snow for the next 3 days. Will be great up there tomorrow. The level 4 chairs can't be long from opening, and then to the peak
  13. Not quite. Showing the new instructors the mountain. And helping them to ski pow, which many have done but not this depth Video is definitely the best. This was pretty ad hoc as we didn't expect the snow to be this deep.

A lot of people come here 'edge heavy' because they're used to trying to find an edge on groomers that have used yesterday's snow. Because we get such regular top ups the groomers have the pleasure of pushing new snow around. That's why this area is so good for beginners and intermediat

  17. All shots taken so far are within a couple of hundred metres of the groomed runs, and all lift accessible with no hiking. After an overnight snowfall pow everywhere on and off the 'groomed'. Neversummer Going to make use of the Grand Hirafu Club 8am start in January and if no lesson at 8:30, I'll be out until 10:30 lesson start time.
  18. Absolutely staged. Working on form in the pow and how to demonstrate relaxation in conditions that most of our guests won't have experienced. While we were at it I took a couple of pics. Tim does a better job of pulling it off in this instance.
