  1. Here's a video of Niseko from the 31 of Dec apparently. Looks good. YOU TUBE - Niseko Powder
  2. Ok so here's the deal, for some strange reason, we are flying Qantas, from Melbourne to Haneda, then a night stopover at the airport (which JAL pays for?) then the next day flying JAL, Narita to Sapporo, but that leaves us to get from Haneda to Narita, we'll have all our gear. Bags. Ski bag, etc. So whats the best way to get from Haneda airport to Narita airport? TIA
  3. theres a few things I would love to be sliding around in right now! the girlfriend, some powder, a bath full of beer, maybe one after the other!?
  4. yeah Justin apparently works for this hotshots group, and he's an Aussie. An aussie in Niseko? Never!
  5. his name is Justin, not sure what his last name is, anyways I was told this was Niseko, and recent. I drooled the moment I saw this. that last one had me drool the most, a power turn through knee deep! NIIIIIIICE
  6. Ok, I've been told these are from this season. My partner is a travel agent, and a client of hers sent these over via email a week ago.
  7. never a truer word spoken there spook, glass seems to half empty at the moment, maybe it should be half full. Might have to get my head around that...
  8. Quote: 170cm in Victoria would be an excellent year True, but I don't pay thousands of dollars to ski on 170cm in Victoria. Thats why I did pay the thousand odd dollars to ski on something better. Perhaps I am being a little anxious, but I think I am worried just like a lot of the other people on this forum that the snow and temperature could be a lot better.
  9. ok, I'm starting to get worried, this dec 31 deadline has past and Niseko is still sitting at 170 cm, should I be worried seeing I have another 6 weeks of waiting, before I make the trip?
  10. ...wont have to worry about picking up ladies, I'm traveling with my soon to be fiance. Mind you if it goes horribly wrong and she says no, then I could be in luck in Niseko by the sounds of it!? I have been thinking around 6000-7000 per day, sounds about right. Mind you a massage later in the week could be good, how much for a shiatsu massage?
  11. Quote: This is a very inexpensive country for drinkers. No wonder so many Aussies come over! I must admit, one of the reasons for going to Japan, is the price of basic things, and the conversion rate.
  12. I'd prefer to eat and drink what the locals eat and drink. And I reckon 3 beers over dinner, or 2 glasses of will be enough. I heard that beer was expensive? But at around $1200 Yen/$12 AUD a six pack I'd say it was comparable to here?
  13. I'm wondering what a good daily budget is. Lunch, dinner, drinks, beer, wine, sake. etc? Everything else is paid for, tickets, accom, breakfast, but I'm wondering what the basic price of things is like in Niseko? TIA. Staying at Lodge Koroporkkuru in Hirafu.
  14. it's ok, scrolled through every page manually, found it, steep and cheap.
  15. what the hell is this SAC? and yes before anyone asks I did search and couldn't find anything...
  16. Skiier 23 years. Snowboarding wasn't around back then, and by the time it arrived, I didn't want to become a beginner again, and sit of my ass all the time.
  17. here's a good mix of jibbing, freeriding, jumps, etc. nice! YOUtube Video the bit at the end is funny, what guys will do for a jibb
  18. Quote: Will put some vids up of Japan when I get time. Here is a nice vid I just came across, Ohhhhh thats sooooo sweet. If I can look forward to that I'm going to be more stoked than a fire on a cold night. Thanks WM! Some interesting head cam setups. Be interesting to see some more footage.

  20. this one is great, nearly every time he's landing in powder, plus he's a great skier. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1LE8kEjrUR0&NR
  21. Nice and cruisy Torihada, definitely shows how you can cruise and enjoy yourself. How bout this one, ski tree jumping??? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=10F4zbafaHo
  22. I tend to agree, lunchtime cuts into the perfect time to ski, when no-one else is. Infact I do exactly what SZ does, load up the night before, head out as soon as you can the next morning, go hard. Have short break around 11, then enjoy the lunchtime quietness, and then have another quick break around the 3pm mark, more powerbars, snacks, etc, and the be happy in the knowledge that when you finish when the lifts close you had a great day, and you can relax in the onsen/bar/couch etc.
  23. that guys a nut bag, but if you listen to what he says, its no different than stuntmen who fall exactly the same way, distributing the pressure. nice vid, thanks.
