  1. me jane, not come on but there was a spark. She also had a straight set of teeth, something of a rarity. I also knew an old guy who used to brag about his ikkyu, but I swear he got it on those old wooden skis.
  2. When going up in the gondola this weekend 2 couples in thier 60s started talking to me. One of the old women started asking me about my sexlife in Japan. I said that I think Japanese girls are too selfish all they care about is getting their disneyland fix. The old woman said I should start the nanpa on the ski slopes. haha The old guys started getting weirded out by the conversation. Just spray loads of snow on their back if you see them getting infront.
  3. I want to go to Hakkoda, but I don't have anybody to go with (Its hard to get a package for just one person), I am considering a 3 day weekend so maybe we could have a few nice runs on a Friday. I was thinking about the last weekend of March or first 2 weekends of April. If anybody is up for it email me. If a good few people want to join then we can get a group discount.
  4. Great Job on Hakuba, its nice to see somebody else got as sunburnt as me. The office staff around me are laughing at my big red face.
  5. Ask and you shall recieve, My images from my camera are far too big... This is another cornice with some guy to show how big it is up there. Maybe 6 meters of POW. I would love to drop in on that.
  6. Thanks, I was a bit hesitant to upload photos because there are some many great photographers here.
  7. Yes and no, I went to Gunma and it was the worst experience in my life, just a sheet of ice as hard as an ice skating ring(I saw plenty of children crying) but in Nigatta it was perfect, as you can see from one of my pics of Kagura. From the worst to the absolute best.
  8. Thanks, it was great yesterday, but my camera really was too heavy for the hike and I have sunburn today.
  9. Well I eventualy took a BC tour. Thanks canyons.jp I took 100 photos, don't want to display the best ones because they are all RAW files and take ages to process. Here is one.
  10. Kagura has been very good this year but it is having wind problems. Just been up BCing
  11. Usually anything over 1000M is pretty ok and will survive the rain, sometimes I feel the snow is a bit softer and broken up so when it does snow it builds up nicely.
  12. Hakkoda just before 2 people died... I so wanted to go. Maybe I can go in early April.
  13. Fattwins I think most food in Japan that was considered poor people food in the past is actualy very good. Such as Oden, some of the items in Ozetchi are really good, whale was also considered poor food. But to me it is really hearty/soul food and the only filling thing here.
  14. Coming back to what is good for beginners, I think all slopes can be deceptive, especially current snow conditions. I find that there are always some runs that are mislabeled, Red runs that should be black and vice versa. (though I like an unexpected challenge) as others have said you have to fall to learn, its better to go out and have a bit of fun that look for the perfect beginner mountain.
  15. Thanks tsonda, I will walk past the sign the next time then. Un/fortunately I off on a BC tour of gunma tomorrow, I just hope it stops raining.
  16. SKI/brit-gob It is an avalanche warning but I would like to know the details, Its not just a simple sign it has quite a lot of text spanning 2 signs in red yellow and black. In places like Naeba where it is an Avalanche warning it says in English you should be careful about Noise. I am wondering exactly because I want to know if there is an exit back onto the main gelende so I dont have to hike back up the hill.
  17. My vote would go for Naebe, some beginner runs are pretty interesting also it has an amazing rental place. Its where I brought my beginner friend.
  18. List of "food" I have eaten. Whale, twice once in Moss burger in Hokkaido and the other time in Shinagawa. I liked it Grasshoppers, Takadanobaba was better than I expected. Scorpion, Takadanobaba consistancy of prawns with the shell felt on, not bad, Frog, numerous times. Baby Sparrow again takadanobaba, not terribly bad, I didnt like the guey stomach much. Balut(duck egg with fetus),Shinotsuka worse than sparrows. Dragon Flies/Sparrows/Wasp nest/jelly fish/spiders/ silk worm larva/chevet cat All in China, I have a feeling I ate dog as my Chinese friend was laughing his he
  19. Tsonda you did your compression test etc? So was there about 40cm of fluff on the top? Although your pit was 1.5m deep, I think I few rider would be able to recover from a 1.1m drop into more pow, moguls are that size with no give. Also I am sure you left tracks around it and it was visible, people on such a slope are avoiding tracks trying to make their own line so I doubt many people would fall into your devious boobie trap.
  20. I would hazard a guess and say the upper limit is either 16384 or 65536, so either 200 or 2400 more pages to go.
  21. I am surprised the database can hold all these posts on one table, there might be an upper limit... then the site goes down.
