  1. I think it's a poor choice. I think Oz would have made a good show of it. We have recently hosted the Olympics and rugby world cups with great success. That said, a lot of other countries would have done a great job as well. I would have liked to have seen it go to a third world African or South American country. They may well have made a dog's breakfast of it (Commonwealth games Delhi springs to mind) but hey, it's just a football game after all. Right?
  2. Aussies can kiss their $45 million goodbye.

  4. Yeah, it's the tubby ones that cause all the trouble.
  5. Unbelievable I take it that this guy is a bit of a legend.
  6. It will do two things down here. 1) Become magazine fodder for women to fluf about. 2) Stir up the old monarchy vs republic debate, again.
  7. A huge boost of sales for womens mags the world over.
  8. Dengue fever may have played a part here, but only a minor one. According to a police report, a prescription bottle of Alprazolam, a drug commonly used to treat anxiety disorders and panic attacks and available under the commonly known brand name Xanax, was found on a table. A prescription bottle for Ambien, a drug used to treat insomnia, was found on the bedside dresser table. Irons was found lying on his back with a sheet pulled up to his neck. Very sad way to go for such a champion. RIP dude. On a brighter note. Best waves around here for some time on Tues, Wed.
  9. Unbelievable. There will be more to this story. Hardly anyone dies from Dengue fever.
  10. Surfers always seem to get out of these type of scrapes OK. It's the locals that always cop it. Poor buggers can't even swim, let alone deal with all that! A similar thing happened to a mate of mine at G-Land in 1994. He was asleep in his hut, then found himself being washed through the jungle tangled in his mossie net. It's a horendous story. Some of them got trapped under logs, bamboo and stuff. Holding their breath as long as they could. They all survived, but 264 locals from the village died.
  11. Nah, if they were Aussie bears they would've barbecued the bodies first.
  12. You know, I was only just thinking about that after I posted. Maggots need fly's eggs right? So there must have been a fly in there or one got through the seal somehow.
  13. I once left a meat pie in the oven before going on holidays. When I returned after a month, the maggots greeted me at the door.

  15. Damm them.... I'm going to cancel that $25 000 trip to the Maldives to re-new my wedding vowels right away.
  16. At 14 years old, who else could you blame?
  17. I heard the most disgusting display of public swearing ever yesterday. It was a 14 year old girl yelling F & C as loud as her lungs would allow, at her boyfriend out the front of a shopping centre. How do people get like that?
  18. Maccas is a bit south of of Pit stop right Spook?
  19. Yep, all safe and sound. Story This area has been a hot bed of earthquakes and tsnamis lately.
  20. Bit of a worry. Hopefully just a communication problem.
