  1. No-one is saying that there isn't a need for something to give. But from the comments gathered on here so far, out of all the people responding you seem to be the only one prepared to pay more without decreasing how many times you go out. Good for you. I'd likely have to just go less. I wouldn't suddenly magically be finding extra money, especially as the basic cost of living is on it's way up quite considerably here in Japan now and in the near future. I'd probably be less likely to eat out as well when I was there, and probably not stay over either rather stretch my day trips.
  2. Nothing more than I am doing now - lots of walking, a fair bit of bike riding. For some people, it all sounds a bit too "not fun" to me.
  3. Tsugaike is pretty much the best place for beginners in that area region. Get your friends on here too!
  4. For car owners of course! Do you wash your car? I don't, never has. Rain does it. But I noticed when I was back home that it is almost a ritual the once a week car clean. Can't see the point myself with the dusty roads.
  5. If it weren't so hot and humid it would be a lovely day here. Clear and sunny blue skies with just a bit of cloud. Sadly it isn't lovely.
  6. That program was fairly interesting, if a bit slow. No celebs! The bit about the flights coming into Japan was interesting, often wondered what happened there.
  7. Sadly I think the McDonalds has closed. A blow, I know, but I'm sure there are other places. Other than that, I don't know as I am almost always a day trip if I go there. I usually eat in Nagano city.
  8. I asked a local shop here in winter and they said that it was about 60% board / 40% ski.
  9. Cool picture yes shame about the distortion or whatever.
  10. From what I gather, it was their own place that they let out from time to time, and they had a small restaurant type place as well. I'll ask more when I see them next.
  11. You're the one coming over as defensive, DiGriz. I love Shiga Kogen. But that doesn't erase the fact that in recent years it has been struggling with inconsistent snow conditions. Suppose that's 'not relevant' though.
