  2. Bit off topic, but a few years ago in Colorado and a lot of our crew went off to the opp-shops and bought cheapo fluoro 80s one-piece suits, had the headbands, the big fluoro sunglasses, skiied like gumbies, called the whole day "fag-bag day".... great fun.. With you on the dash-to-the-loo-friendly option too Team Snow Bee!

  6. Rach - noooo worries at all..... There was already loads up there over Christmas and I see there's been another 30cm over the last couple of nights.
  7. Depends on where you`re staying as well as to the best place to get off. We were staying at Sun Valley Hotel (cheap as chips and right next to the lifts, but not a lot else around there) and our bus stop was goyru. We`re at the Backpackers this week so i think that`s Goryu as well. Check with ur hotel and they might be able to come and pick you up to save you the walk... from memory I think we paid 1400Y one way for our tix .....
  8. You shouldnt have any problem. Its only a short walk from the station to the bus stop (from memory bus stop # 5 or 6) There will probably be people queueing for the bus anyway with ppl from the bus company selling tix anyway. when u heading up?? we're up there this weekend and a few of our lads are planning on taking that bus I think.
  9. i use a burton red as well - its got fleecy ear warmers which are an absolute godsend in the wind... (also fit a pair of earphones snugly too!!) was a great buy i`d definitely recommend it..
  10. Hi Can't remember the names of them, but I had a few unbearably slow rides on lifts over the weekend at Hakuba. Anyone know any other slooooooow lifts in Japan we're best off avoiding??
  11. Was checking out some higaeri brochures and thought the following hills looked pretty good - anyone got any info on them? 1. Alts 2. Grand Deco Snow Resort 3. Madarao 4. Ishiuchi 5. Joetsukokusai 6. Kita Shiga Yomase ski jyou They look like they cover a pretty decent size area and look fairly interesting but would be keen to hear anyone`s thoughts on them....
  12. Hey, Had a magic day up there last Saturday - hoping to head up there on Sunday with mudguts if anyone else is keen??? Just reading the reports now and seeing that kagura / Gala areas have more snow than Niseko right now!?? having only been here for a few seasons, just curious as to whether this a bit of a freak start to the season or not????????? anyone have any ideas????

Tsondaboy - geez didnt realise it was that bad this time of year!! grabbed my tix today - fortunately / unfortunately will be on the ungodly 6:08 Tokyo hatsu.. so hoping first lift.... any one else heading up????
  16. Yep!!! on the first train up from Tokyo and hopefully first lift as well.. 9,200 from Tokyo for shinkansen ticket & lift ticket. Check out page 9 of the JR `byuu` higaeri brochure with the red cover. Think this deal is good till late December.

  18. Hi all, after a bit of advice for Christmas this year. A few of us are looking at renting a cabin (to sleep 8 - 10 ppl) for the Christmas weekend. Leaving from Tokyo on the Friday and then back into Tokyo on Monday night - so 3 nights 4 days of skiing is the plan...... Does anyone out there have any good leads on cabins close to ski hills that you can rent out. Also any info on hills that are good around late December. Was thinking maybe Hakuba but not too sure... Any help greatly appreciated!! Cheers,
