  1. or maybe I was wrong... this seems to work: (embed src="gamera.avi" height="240" width="320")( /embed) you'll have to change it to the right file location and change the "(" to "<" and ")" to ">"
  2. Doesn't seem to be a standard way to do this... using a link is your best bet for visibilty with different browsers... Another option is to encode the .avi as a quicktime movie rather (a .mov file) but you will need some software to do that for you. Then you can embed the video in your actual page.
  3. Fattwins... exactly: Hakuba season pass = 58000yen Strange snowbirds pass = 63000yen but includes 47,ontake,winghills and hachikita etc... seems more worthwhile to me to have the opportunity to ride a few other spots for the extra 5000yen... although maybe they are spots I probably wouldn't otherwise have gone to, but spice, variety and all that.
  4. Does look a bit sucky, but was thinking of getting one of those funny snowbirds season passes which includes this place... will be hitting 47 for 20+ days and this place is 45 minutes away, so it seems sensible, otherwise I wouldn't have given it a second look...
  5. think this also explains why snowjapan has been getting so many hits in the last two days - the reality of the early season sinks in when you see the stuff falling... I'm in the corner where aichi, gifu and nagano meet and its been coming down here too for the last two days, much to the surprise of the locals... saw more than a few gasoline stands yesterday with people queueing for studless...
  6. hmmm... I actually though it was the reds heading of to the left. I'm pretty sure those weren't on the resort homepages map a week or two ago... Now that I checked again with the one on yahoo (the one SJ links to) that doesn't really make sense, as it looks like that is where the main entrance is.... and also considering that that map looks like a photo, I guess they wouldn't have it all up to date with the new courses covered in snow too. Guess the update of their gelende map was just to show the whole place... haven't actually been there but had been checking it out as its now one of
  7. It is some new stuff - was wondering why they were promising to update the map for this season... anyway as for being the biggest in Gifu, its in Nagano! hehehe... but still a fair bit of vert for such a small resort, and nice also to see that its not just a long beginner run thats been added, at least according to the map...
  8. for 47/goryu you should look into a week day ticket - any 5 days (mon-fri) for 15000, don't have to be consecutive so you can move around a bit...
  9. I would say its definitely worth trying at least once if you're on that side of Japan. It can get a bit crowded in peak season simply because it gets folks from very western japan too, but its daytrippable from osaka... wrote a review of it a few years back after my first proper powder day, which I had the luck to catch there so it definitely gets the goods... now with a bit more experience I might not be quite so enthusiastic about it anymore, but still have no hesitation in recommending it, especially for a day or two - if you are thinking of going for a week I might think otherwise, but eve
  10. gamera: The snowbirds only includes 47/goryu, not all the hakuba resorts... As for the Happy7 pass, I ended up at some kind of "expo" in osaka over the weekend where they were selling gear and had booths for a lot of resorts... Anyway was surprised to see that they were still taking registrations for Happy7, even though it was supposedly going to be drawn on saturday... Otherwise not the most interesting event - but maybe I am biased cos they didn't have many gloves, which is all I wanted.... g/f got a cheapish jacket and won a day pass though... and you can also buy a few discounte
  11. Not good for everyone, but there's also this: http://www.snowbirds.jp/ 63000yen for 8 resorts... on 47's website its called the "Super Season pass", but hasn't been included in this seasons list yet.... quite a weird selection though, but can give you a few more options if you're in the right area of Japan... basically its an extra 5000 on top of a regular 47 pass, so not too bad IF of course you can make use of it. I'm an hour from some of the smaller resorts, but will be making the longer drive to Hakuba for (hopefully) about 20 days, so it kinda makes sense... but seeing a
  12. No chance of doing a range? Some 1.5x1.5s for the keitai, some 5x5s for those on ski's, and some nice big 20x20s or something to slap on the board? gizza stikka!
  13. This is in fact how I learned to ride switch... In california, on about my 15th day out ever, a friendly local offered a hit on the lift up - by the time I got to the top it seemed like a good idea to see if I could ride goofy, which didn't really work out at all for the first hundered meters or so, so I tried going back to normal only to find that if anything it felt entirely ABnormal, and had in fact become rather dangerous... seemed I had no choice but to go back to goofy, and by the bottom I had begun to wonder if this wasn't in fact the way I was meant to be... for the rest of the da
