  1. Is that so Oyuki? (Not a challenge, it's a question). I know about the "company tours" to Bancock (soubriquette's cake ladies don't bother with these) but where are these books on sale? GG deserves life in prison for musical crimes, let alone his paedophilia.
  2. Orstraya invented sledging, and made it into an art form. Giving it is a pleasure, but taking it makes me a troll. Walking in to a non-airconditioned lecture theatre at Cretin Uni was like walking into a hot armpit. The Orstrayans stank. Thank you John Coates. Still being duchessed in the luxury lane I see.
  3. John Coates, the head of Australian Olympic Committee, has conceded publicly that the Poms might edge out the Aussies. "Not bad for a country that has no swimming pools and very little soap." Top marks for cultural sensitivity But get very precious at a whiff of criticism.
  4. "Nine American Eagle airplanes were grounded Tuesday after a TSA inspector, conducting an overnight security check, used sensitive instrument probes to climb onto the parked aircraft at Chicago's O'Hare Airport, aviation sources tell ABCNews.com. 5. He needed the passport to be able to get back to the UK. I hope that Hong Kong will expel him quickfast. He's talking about reviving his career. He always was shite. Don't think he's going to sell many records, and his teenie bopper market is going to be limited.
  6. Fair enough. And sometimes I want an apple that doesn't weigh a kilo. For small people, the fruit comes "family sized". We are spoiled here. Rice is grown in the valley, melons on the hills, and stonefruit and apples just to the south. In season, there is a constant stream of visitors bearing gifts.
  7. Apologies to all Australians, I know I'm pretty jaundiced. Aussies do like to start a fight, but get very defensive very quickly. Again Mantas, BP, Indo, MB sorry!
  8. There's a lot of handwork involved in fruit growing, and that makes it expensive. The fruit here is flawless. I don't think the market is protected, just that foreign products don't compete. If the rice isn't Japonica, it won't sell. I get basmati rice at my local Yamaya store, thursday. I prefer long-grain to Japonica, but that puts me in a minority hahaha. There is a lot of customer resistance to food from China.
  9. Get off your bike, BP. The front page headline of the Worst Orstrayan was "Why we Hate the Poms". This is racist shite, by any stretch. Take it to a civilised country and insert pejorative of choice.
  10. Thankfully, it is several years since I spent any time in Worstern Orstraya. A classic front page headline from the class-leading "newspaper" (when the England cricket team visited) was: "Why we Hate the Poms". I guess when an African team visits WA, the headline will be "Why we hate the Niggers". Or an Asian team "Why we hate the Chinks", or "Why we hate the Japs".
  11. Here's AFP "BEIJING (AFP) - An Australian swim coach has sparked a storm after admitting selling the training program used by his protege Jessica Schipper for "big money" to the Chinese girl who beat her at the Olympics. Ken Wood sold his top-secret training methods, which transformed Schipper into a world-record breaking 200m butterflyer, to the Chinese coach of Liu Zige, according to News Ltd newspapers in Australia on Sunday." I would have let this one through to the wicket-keeper, but the memsahib chose to challenge me on this. Question 1. Did the Jamaican sprinters tra
  12. That's because you're reading the Worst Orstrayan, mate. Great paper If it happened off the west end of Rottnest, or east of the nullabor, then it didn't happen at all
  13. Oishida Matsuri. Some snaps. Techically rubbish but hand-held in variable light. I'll let the pictures do the talking.
  14. Thanks. I'm glad I'm not out on my own for once, trolling for Yamagata Does anyone remember about (mumble mumble) 15 years ago, when Australia's Bulgarian(?) weightlifters were beaten by Bulgaria's Bulgarians? Then they were all busted for doping. There's a drug-gap. Their steroids are better than ours. I sent off a letter to the AIS urging them to invest more money in doping research.....
  15. I'm very sorry to read that Mamabear. Life is a vale of tears, that's for sure. I can well understand that your friend's husband has decided to stop faffing around and let nature take its course. Sometimes the intervention is worse than the disease The memsahib has opted to go for surgery and nothing else. She'll be monitoring things very closely with a series of follow-up scans, but is determined to avoid chemo and radiation therapy. So be it.
  16. Biting gold? Pure gold is a soft metal, and biting it is a very poor test to see if it is genuine.
  17. Sorry for the rant Indo, but it gets right up my nose to see someone crucified for doing their job. If Aussie (sorry for the typo) sports were kind and gentle then I could see some grounds for criticism. As it happens, Aussies are "in your face" professionals, and should stop effing whinghing when their methods work for others.
  18. It`s going well, but I miss a good cuddle at night.
  19. All-clear apart from extra operation(s) to remove blood clots. Anyone who chooses to get their tits operated on to insert silicone bags is seriously deranged.
  20. ManU 1, Newcastle 1. Excellent start to the season Take that Ronaldo fans :biff:

Previously unknown, Liu came out of nowhere to win gold in the event here and shatter Schipper's world record by 1.22 seconds in the process, leaving the Australian a distant third.
  22. I suggest, BoC, you take up reading "The Sun". Getting past the headlines will take you about a week of working it out.
