  1. And I would like an apologetic/grateful bowing smilie please.
  2. I was thinking about going up with MMT. Have a few friends interested but I don't know if they'll go. You have to either buy a three day pass or one day ticket. Not really worth buying 2x one-day tickets cos that would work out almost the same price as the three day pass. Though of maybe going up on the Fri night, camping, getting a Sat ticket, and then coming back sometime on Sunday.
  3. My mum told me to put a teaspoon of vinegar in the water to stop the shell cracking. Seems to work.
  4. Usually quick reply unless I'm doing something like writing an epic birth story and need to add facial expressions and pics.

  6. Has anyone done or worked with this? I did it at school and that's what first got me interested in the outdoors. The school I did my teaching prac at last month had the International Award which is the same thing by another name so I started volunteering with it. Going up to Nikko for a few days with them soon. Love doing things like that with kids, good to see them enjoying the outdoors and all the teamwork stuff.
  7. About 1,000 photos a year since 1999 (the year). They are on CD, an extenal hard drive and smugmug. Only got 2008 (the year) in my PC.
  8. Another one this morning around 7:30 I think. Woke me up.
  9. Right, figured it out. LIP's are only for minority language skins on English OSs. To get English lang skins on a Japanese PC I'd need to upgrade to Vista Ultimate and then download the MUI. Time to go find my lovely Boss...
  10. Thanks KevK, I think you are talking about the MUI language pack. I only have Vista home premium so need the LIP. The LIPs don't seem to come up automatically through windows update.
  11. Stuck! I couldn't find it through windows update nor the MS site. According to this it looks like it doesn't exist. http://www.microsoft.com/globaldev/reference/oslocversion.mspx#winVistaLIP Does anyone have a link for the download?
  12. Thanks KevK, I'll go and find that vista language pack now!
  13. Does switching over J-Vista to English with the language pack affect Japanese functionality? TB, are you talking about problems on an English OS or on a Japanese OS with the Eng lang pack?
  14. Some lovely specimens on this site girls, and a bargain at 40,000/hour! http://www.myyesman.com/
  15. No, but I know the difference and they are not typos. I mean things like typing "teh" for "the".

And, I use standard English, not that bastardised version that the Yanks have foisted on the world (note 'bastardised' no 'z' in there!). BTW, I am typing this in FF and have never had a red underline in the reply box. I turn spell-check off in every programme I install, Word, Excel, and all! I ca

  18. I have no idea about this but I has always thought fading was more to do with the ink than the paper? We have a big printer at work and we can use it for cost. Paper roll is a meter wide and we pay 1,500yen per meter of length to print. I've printed a couple of big pics with it and the quality is fantastic, even from my compact digicam.

  20. Personally, I think they go a bit over the top. Not condoning the crimes in any way but the attention they are given is out of proportion. There are so many twisted crimes commited by Japanese people and many people here aren't even willing to acknowledge that they happen.
  21. Did you have to flag down someone to get help or were you with someone on the mountain?
  22. Quote: We increasingly hear stories of people who have made real friends from the forums and the site and it’s really great to hear stories like that. If we can provide the platform for so many people to meet, discuss things and make friends, that is a good thing. Wonder when the first SJ wedding will take place!
