For park check Asagai, across Naeba. If you get the 80000 season pass you can use it on 3 resorts, Naeba, Asagai and Kagura. Asagai is one of the best maintained parks in the area. If its powder what you are after, head towards Kagura. Kagura has basically no patrol.

Naeba is 80000 and is good for Kagura too. You can also get a Naeba only pass for 70000.

Its not out in Japan yet for some reason. They are planing to bring it around December.

It was great 2p, we had a whole week of sunshine. The people were ultra friendly and unlike Tokyo they actually say good morning on the street even if the don't know you. Nice relaxed place, I might return next year if Thunderpants is still around.

I ve done the train trip from Tokyo to Sapporo 5 years ago. The Shinkansen will only take you as far as Hachinoe in Aomori. Then you will have to take the express train that goes to Hakodate and change there to the train that goes to Sapporo. There is tunnel that connects Hokkaido to Aomori but its only for trains. If I remember well, there is talk of extending the Shinkansen lines up to Hakodate, but thats not gonna happen in the near future for sure. An other TR from my summer vacations and again on an island. Tanegashima is a small island outside Kagoshima in Kyushu. Its not that famous as a sightseeing spot as the neighboring island of Yakushima but more known for the JAXA facilities and also as one of the surfing Meccas in Japan. In fact a big portion of the population are surfers that relocated down there from Tokyo/Osaka and other major cities, just like our hosts the Thunderpants.
