  3. natfu...welcome to the forums! I would suggest bring cash or change your money before you come here- as gamera mention it is mostly cash that people use here. Especially when you get out of the bigger cities!
  4. Thats a classic!! Would that be a collectors board yet?
  5. Hi me jane all is good and he had to pay for everything! Most people living here know this... ...but NEVER jump the green light because there is a good chance some clown is going to run the red!
  6. hahaha! Fake your own death! I lived in Leopalace for a while when I first came here, I moved with the about times and found their service quite good (although quite small). If your contract says 90 days or pay the remainder that would be your answer. I only had short contracts so I could move out quickly but maybe things have changed! I will check with my wife and see if she has more useful info!
  7. Mate I would love to! having a wife and child makes those kind of things a little harder ($$$$$$). However if you were to say......................
  8. Fubuki, sounds good but I will probably be working Saturday....damn I hate Xmas here- no holiday! I also said I would spend Xmas day with the family, do something "nice". Where are you heading?

  12. Nope, too scary. All I want to know at the end of the season is that I had a great time!
  13. Well, woke up this morning to the first serious dump this season. Bit of a blizzard happening outside! .........time to dust of the snow shovel, get the gear out and wax(not the brazilian type either)........

  17. Thanks Misorano, I am on the NHI scheme and that is OK for us just looking for the extra prop up and the wife is starting to worry about when I die! (Just kidding, it is a family responsibility that if something happens then my wife and child can lead a happier life when I am gone). I am currently with Aflac but because I have asthma they 'say' that they cannot offer any insurance because off this! Sounds crazy- so if I break an arm I am OK but if I tell the doctor I also have asthma my insurance is invalid! My local reps for Aflac have been nothing but useless so I am hoping someo
  18. O11, thanks for the info and I do remember the topic and searched for it but didn't get any results which is why I posted this again- regretably!
  19. Quote: i know some people who don't tell their insurance company that they suffer from asthma. Actually thats what I have been doing, the insurance guy also suggested this. . My concern is that I have to pay my monthly payments which may become a waste if hospitalised for asthma! also I have family responsibilities! Gamera, thanks but they are the companies I am having some issues with!
  20. Before anyone says anything, Yes I did a search and couldn't find the info I was looking for! I was kindly informed by my sh#t insurance company that because I suffer from asthma my insurance is null and void and that I can't get insurance in Japan because of this! Anyway I am seriously tired of getting the run around and bad service from these clowns and need some advice or suggestion for an overseas co that does health insurance here in Japan (even for asthmatics) at a reasonable cost. Actually any helpful advice would be welcome! A big thanks in advance for any help.
  21. FT, shop around. Last year it cost us about 12000yen but by talking to friends etc this year the cost is about 5000yen for my daughter and I, my wife gets it for free through work!
